Chinese student drowned in New Zealand South Island
Clip on hair extensionsWELLINGTON, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese student was drowned on Saturday, only days after arrived in New Zealand, the Chinese Embassy to New Zealand confirmed on Monday.
The 19-year-old youth, from China's northeastern city of Changchun, came to New Zealand South Island's largest city of Christchurch only on Feb. 1.
replica breitlingThe student disappeared while swimming with his host family at Sumner Beach in Christchurch about 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Police said the youth went back into the water alone and the family lost sight of him.
A large operation was mounted with Coastguard's Sumner Lifeboat, police, volunteers and the Rescue Helicopter combing the sea and shoreline into the night.
But the search failed to find the
embroidered patches 19-year-old on Saturday night. His body was discovered by a member of the public on Scarborough Beach early Sunday.
The student's family in China were notified with the help of the Chinese embassy.
